White woman writes: A few reasons why cracker doesn’t compare to the N-word

The following conversation took place on a well known forum:

"In street interviews aired Thursday, CNN found that whites are not as offended by the term “cracker” as they are by the N-word."

I don't really find the term "cracker" offensive to be honest, just corny as hell. Besides Zimmerman is Mestizo, a better question would be Spic/beaner/wetback vs n i g g e r

Of course it's not considered as offensive. That's because the media and establishment has made the "n-word" into a major taboo. They haven't done the same for 'Cracker'.

Others have pointed out how stupid CNN were when they ran that segment about which word was worse but instead of saying 'ni.gger' they called it the 'n-word'. Talk about a leading question.

And here's me thinking racism is racism and racial slurs are wrong when it turns out theres a hierarchy where some words arnt as bad as others!

So can I use "jungle bunny"? "mango muncher" "spear chucker"? "nig nog"? "Coon"? none of them sound anywhere near as bad as the dreaded "N word" do they?

I guess I'm not allowed to sing this anymore though:
