Mailbox etc. UPS Store Roosevelt, Utah Beware!

Every once in a while, you run across a business that is so utterly incompetent, so incredibly inept, so completely mismanaged, so unprofessional, etc. that you have to admit that there are times when an employee's mother should have had an abortion.

I have had dealings with the Mailbox etc. in Roosevelt, Utah six times.  While UPS has a company policy of fairness, honesty, and customer service, they tell me that nearly anyone can hang out a sign that says they will charge double for UPS service and bear zero responsibility for lost, stolen, misdirected, or otherwise abusive shipping practices.

Keep in mind that UPS allows individuals and businesses to create their own shipping labels at home for less than half the price charged by Mailbox Etc. or Express type businesses.  UPS will also pick up said package for free.  So these mailbox places are similar in nature to a kid outside a grocery store that offers to make your purchases for an additional $10 to $20 per item, but makes no claim as to how long it will take or if your milk will spoil before you get it.  The mailbox store is very low overhead because they have no actual product.  They sell boxes that you can get at Wal-Mart for less than a dollar for $4 or $5.  The service they offer is performed by UPS and so they do not perform any valuable service themselves, other than allowing UPS to pick up your package at their location.

UPS offers guarantees regarding shipping times and the mailbox stores do not honor the UPS guarantee.

Of the 6 times I dealt with the Mailbox Etc. store in Roosevelt, every single time was an extreme waste of money, which by the way, they refused to return as a result of their incompetence.  In one instance, they shipped via FedEx when I specifically requested UPS.  On another occasion, they shipped the package to me instead of the intended recipient.  In three cases, the shipments were delayed as much as 9 days.

Three times I was denied a refund that UPS specifically authorizes.

Once, when I called to complain, I was given the manager, who hung up the phone on me.

Eventually, they will go out of business, due to not providing a legitimate service.  Customers can print their own shipping labels for $10.00 less for each package and UPS will pick the package up at your home or office for free, so there really isn't any reason to use them.  A different business with the exact same business model is concert ticket scalpers.  They pay $25 for a ticket and sell it to you for $50 or double.  In some cases, this business model is illegal.

While all 6 of my encounters with the mailbox place has proven to be costly mistakes, they probably do spell some people's names right or send their package to the right place.

I will never again as long as I live, ever waste another minute or penny on these illiterate idiots, and I hope you do not either.
